Silk Point

Everything you need to share Silk Point with your audience before the brushes ship. Copy the captions, grab the photos, post in your own voice. No approvals, no rules, just the language and the facts, ready to go.

One important note. These are production-prototype photos, the set Polina has been painting her latest works with. The brushes are in pre-order now and ship in July 2026. When your own set arrives in July, that is when honest review and demo content makes sense. For now, please share Silk Point as a launch your audience should know about, not as a personal review.

The one-page brief

What is Silk Point

Silk Point is a new line of watercolor brushes from Polina Bright. The first set in the line, the Emerald Silk Point Set, is in pre-order now.

The hair is synthetic Kolinsky, a synthetic fiber engineered to perform like natural Red Sable. It holds water in the belly of the brush, releases it under control, and springs back to a needle-sharp point after every stroke. Polina tested it for over a year before greenlighting production.

Hand-crafted in Germany. Metal ferrule construction. Long, balanced handles designed for hours of painting. 100% cruelty-free and vegan.

The first set - Emerald Silk Point Set

  • Round 6 - fine detail and small structures
  • Round 8 - mid-range detail, eyes, leaves and hair
  • Round 10 - everyday painting and expressive strokes
  • Round 12 - larger areas and bold color work
  • Liner - ultra-fine lines, calligraphy and the finest detail
  • Rigger - longer fluid lines, stems and lettering

Blog / newsletter mention

long form
A heads-up worth sharing: Polina Bright has just launched a new line of watercolor brushes called Silk Point. What makes it interesting - the hair is a synthetic Kolinsky. A fiber engineered to perform like natural Red Sable, without using any animal hair. For artists who've been making peace with the natural-vs-synthetic trade-off for years, this is the kind of release worth paying attention to. The brushes are hand-crafted in Germany with metal ferrule construction and long balanced handles. The first set, the Emerald Silk Point Set, is six brushes - four rounds (sizes 6, 8, 10, 12), a Liner for the finest detail, and a Rigger for longer fluid lines. The first production run is limited to 200 sets and pre-orders are open now at launch pricing. Page: polinabright.com/products/pre-order-emerald-silk-point-set

FAQ

Is it really cruelty-free?
Yes. Synthetic Kolinsky is an engineered fiber, no animal hair, 100% vegan.
Synthetic vs natural sable?
Silk Point is built to perform like natural Red Sable, holding water and springing back to a needle-sharp point, without the animal hair. That is the whole point of the line.
How is it different from Polina's other brushes?
Three series, three jobs: her Mops carry water, her Rounds carry expressive body work, Silk Point is the precision line for fine detail. Not better, just different, for different work.
Liner vs Rigger?
The Liner is the finest, for pinpoint lines and calligraphy. The Rigger is longer and more elastic, for long fluid lines, stems and lettering.
When does it ship?
The first run ships July 2026. It is a pre-order.
Why a pre-order, why limited?
The first production run is capped at 200 sets at launch pricing, hand-crafted in Germany.
Can I use it with gouache and ink?
Yes, suitable for any liquid media: watercolor, gouache and ink.
Where is it made?
Hand-crafted in Germany.
How do I get the discount?
Use your code at checkout. It works on the Silk Point page now.

After July

What comes next

When the first run ships in July, your set comes with the wave. From there, the content we would love to build together:

  • Honest review - how they hold up in your real practice
  • Painting demo or technique video - show what they actually do
  • Comparison content - Silk Point vs whatever you were using before
  • A longer piece on how a synthetic Kolinsky changes (or does not change) your workflow

No deadlines, no scripts. You will have the brushes, work with them, then tell your audience what you actually think. Anything you need, just message Polina. She will be the one replying.
